Sanatsujatiya 2.11

2.11 Sanatsujata to Dhritarashtra

saṃbhogasaṃviddviṣamedhamāno dattānutāpī kṛpaṇo'balīyān | vargapraśaṃsī vanitāsu dveṣṭā ete'pare sapta nṛśaṃsadharmāḥ ||

One who knows only sensual pleasure, one who thrives on hostility, one who regrets what he has given, the miser, the weak in will, one who praises only his own faction, and one who hates women: these are seven others of cruel character.

Cruelty takes quiet forms too: living only for pleasure, feeding on conflict, begrudging generosity, clannishness, and contempt for women. The verse names these plainly as faults to avoid.

Sanatsujata lists seven more kinds of cruel people, including those who know only pleasure, who thrive on hostility, regret their gifts, praise only their own group and hate women.
