Sanatsujatiya 4.10

4.10 Sanatsujata to Dhritarashtra

pūrṇātpūrṇānyuddharanti pūrṇātpūrṇāni cakrire | haranti pūrṇātpūrṇāni pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate | yoginastaṃ prapaśyanti bhagavantaṃ sanātanam ||

From the full they draw out the full; from the full they made the full. They take the full from the full, and the full alone remains. The yogins see that eternal Lord.

Meaning today and context

What you truly are is not reduced by giving, losing or failing. Nothing taken from you makes you less whole, and you do not need to fill an emptiness that isn't there.

Sanatsujata gives the teaching of fullness, familiar from the Upanishads: from the full, the full is drawn and the full remains.
