Sanatsujatiya 4.11

4.11 Sanatsujata to Dhritarashtra

tasmādvai vāyurāyātastasmiṃśca prayataḥ sadā | tasmādagniśca somaśca tasmiṃśca prāṇa ātataḥ ||

From that the wind has come, and in that it is always held. From that come fire and soma, and in that the breath is spread out.

Meaning today and context

Even the breath we take without thinking rests in something larger. Noticing that can be a quiet reminder that we are held, not alone.

Sanatsujata says wind, fire, soma and breath all come from the Lord and rest in him. This verse has no refrain; its sense runs on into the next.
