śukrādbrahma prabhavati brahma śukreṇa vardhate | tacchukraṃ jyotiṣāṃ madhye'taptaṃ tapati tāpanam | yoginastaṃ prapaśyanti bhagavantaṃ sanātanam ||
From the pure one Brahman arises; by the pure one Brahman grows. That pure one, among the lights, unheated, gives heat; it is the heater. The yogins see that eternal Lord.
Meaning today and context
The source of all energy is itself untouched and unspent. Our own awareness is like that: it lights up every feeling without itself being burned by them.
Sanatsujata says Brahman arises from and grows by this pure light, which, itself unheated, heats all other lights.
