Insults do not burn his heart, nor [the thought] 'I have not studied, I have not offered the fire-ritual.' His mind should take on the lightness of Brahman; the steady ones call this his wisdom. The yogins see that eternal Lord.
Meaning today and context
A mind settled in what is deepest becomes light: harsh words don't scorch it, and it isn't tormented by what it failed to do. That lightness is not carelessness; it is what wisdom feels like from inside.
Sanatsujata describes the one who knows: insults do not burn his heart, nor regret over study or rites left undone; his mind takes on the lightness of Brahman, and the steady call this wisdom.
