From the dark I go to the many-coloured; from the many-coloured I go to the dark. Shaking off evil as a horse shakes its hair, freeing myself as the moon frees itself from the mouth of Rāhu, shaking off the body, I, a self made perfect, enter the uncreated world of Brahman. I enter it.

Meaning today and context
The images are of release: a horse shaking off dust, the moon coming out of eclipse. Mistakes and burdens can be shaken off; they are not who we are.
Chandogya 8.13.1: a short mantra of the seeker: shaking off evil and the body, the self made perfect enters the uncreated world of Brahman.
